gotta love deer teeth huh? such interesting things to draw. i love your composition/angle here. and the values are wonderful ^^

i wonder, what's drawing with vine charcoal like? i mean... what are the benefits in your opinion? i've never liked them much, but really haven't spent a lot of time working with it either... ;P

thanks, i had this deer skull that my dad found. and i took 100 pics of it from different angles and i like this one of the teeth.

Using Vine first works for me cuz i can pretty get messy and erase it away easier than if i started using the conpressed first. you cant get very dark with the vine, well you can you just really had to work at it. and then with the compressed, every little mark is going to show up and it's hard to take it away. which is why i used it last.
i like charcoal, it just makes things look more dramatic than a pencil drawing, but pencil is cool too...

ah, i hate pencil because it glares in the light. if i ever do a black and white pencil drawing i use a black colored pencil, and that's not too bad. but yes, i absolutely love charcoal, it seems that's all i've been working with lately! :D

thank you for explaining... i'll have to get myself some vine charcoal to play with ;P
and you're welcome, of course :)
